Jeffrey Todd McDonald, Ph. D.
Professor of Computer Science
 Personal

I have some varied interests and passions outside of academia.

Family is obviously very important and I enjoy spending time and doing things with my wife, daughter, and son. After a 20+ year career in the U.S. Air Force, we have visited many places, met many dear friends, and have a lot of fond memories.

College life would not be complete without rooting for the home team, so we are avid Jag fans and like to attend the season football games. Tailgating and meeting up with the SoC faculty at the games has become a regular past time.

I have studied the Bible for far longer than I have studied Computer Science and continue to find it a source of inspiration and fascination. I have taught different Biblical topics for many years and enjoy books by a wide variety of authors. I play guitar and piano and have enjoyed playing with different worship bands throughout my travels. My life verse is Psalms 27:4, "One thing I have desire of the LORD, that will I seek, that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in His temple."

My other hobbies include racquetball, tennis, rock climbing, some occasional golf, a good game of chess, rafting when the occasion presents itself, and computer gaming.
